About This Rod

Daiwa's Amorphous Whisker Connoisseur-X series sat near the top of their feeder lineup through the mid-1990s, succeeding the Whisker Kevlar (WKL) generation and built around their then-cutting-edge amorphous carbon blank technology.

The CN-XL 1113SWQ is the stillwater combo - 11ft with the butt section removed, 13ft with it in - designed for medium-range bream and skimmer work on big stillwaters and Irish loughs, back when 50–70 yards was considered a proper chuck.

Rated comfortably to a 2oz feeder, it's not a "horizon-launcher" by modern standards, but the action is what you don't get on today's stiffer commercial rods: a forgiving through-action that cushions a hooked bream rather than bullying it.

Standard Daiwa and Drennan quiver tips fit, so spares are still easy to come by thirty years on.
