Shipping

Every rod ships in a sturdy cardboard tube, dispatched within 3–5 business days of your order. Postage is £16.95 (for rods 150cm or less and £24.95 for rods longer than 150cm), UK tracked. We currently only ship within the UK — no international orders, sorry.

Your 14-day right to cancel

Under the Consumer Contracts (Information, Cancellation and Additional Charges) Regulations 2013.

You have the legal right to cancel your order for any reason — even if you've just changed your mind — within 14 days of the day you receive the rod.

To cancel, just email edgevintagetackleco@gmail.com with your order number and a line saying you want to cancel. You don't need to give a reason, and you don't need to use a special form (though you can use the model cancellation form on gov.uk if you prefer).

Once you've told us you're cancelling:

  • You then have 14 days to send the rod back to us.
  • You pay the return postage. We recommend a tracked service with insurance — vintage rods aren't cheap to replace if they go missing.
  • We'll refund the full price of the rod plus the outbound postage (depending on length of rod) within 14 days of receiving the rod back (or sooner, if you send proof of postage first).
  • Refunds go back to the original payment method.

Our 30-day “not as described” guarantee

On top of your statutory rights, every rod sold by Edge Vintage Tackle Co. is covered by our own 30-day guarantee from the day of delivery. If the rod isn't what we said it was — wrong model, undisclosed damage, missing section, doesn't match the listing — send it back and we'll refund you in full, including both outbound and return postage.

We cast-test and photograph every rod before it's listed. If we got it wrong, that's on us.

Faulty rods

Under the Consumer Rights Act 2015.

Separately from the rights above, if a rod turns out to be faulty, not of satisfactory quality, or not as described, you have statutory rights under the Consumer Rights Act 2015:

  • Within 30 days of delivery: you can reject the rod and claim a full refund.
  • Within 6 months: you can ask for a repair, replacement, or refund. After one failed repair or replacement, you're entitled to a refund.
  • Up to 6 years: you may still have rights, though the burden of proof shifts to you after the first 6 months.

Given the nature of vintage tackle (rods from the 1980s and 1990s with their own histories), “faulty” means a fault we didn't disclose in the listing — not normal wear and tear that was photographed and described.

What isn't covered

  • Rods damaged after delivery through use, mishandling, or fishing.
  • Cosmetic wear or quirks that were clearly described or pictured in the original listing.
  • Rods returned more than 14 days after you notified us of cancellation, or more than 30 days after delivery for “not as described” claims.

How to return a rod

  1. Email edgevintagetackleco@gmail.com with your order number.
  2. We'll confirm the return address and any specific packing notes.
  3. Pack the rod in its original tube (or an equivalent sturdy tube) and send it tracked.
  4. Refund processed within 14 days of receipt.

None of this affects your statutory rights as a consumer.
